Independence Day Celebrations in NYC

1. Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks

Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks return to New York City with a spectacular multi-waterway display launching from the Brooklyn Bridge, the Hudson River, and the East River!

The Brooklyn Bridge serves as the visual centerpiece, featuring a 1,600-foot-wide American flag, inverted rainbow pyrotechnics fired from the bridge cables, a cascading eight-layer rainbow from the roadway, and a quarter-mile-long silver waterfall from below the bridge.

An extraordinary number of shells will be fired, with 20,000 effects loaded onto custom-fabricated props designed exclusively for the bridge, making this one of the most technically ambitious fireworks productions the city has seen to celebrate the milestone birthday. Details on the best public viewing locations along the waterfront are still being finalized, so check Macy’s official channels closer to the date for updates.

2. July 4th Day Party: St. James Joy & Soul Summit

St. James and Joy & Soul Summit join forces for a free, all-ages open-air day party at Industry City on Saturday, July 4th starting at 2:00 PM, with a lineup that spans an outdoor dance party, BBQ and food trucks, family activities, and a full bar alongside non-alcoholic options.

The event also includes a seated chill-out zone for those looking to take a break between sets, and access to the House of Goal festival running alongside it. RSVP is required but admission is free, making it one of the more ambitious Fourth of July gatherings Brooklyn has to offer.

3. Cunningham Park 4th of July Concert

Cunningham Park hosts a free Fourth of July concert on Saturday, July 4th from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with Utopia Winds performing patriotic music to mark the nation’s 250th birthday. The outdoor performance is a laid-back way to spend the holiday afternoon in one of Queens’ most beloved green spaces. Sponsored by the Friends of Cunningham Park, the concert is open to all at no cost.

4. Staten Island Philharmonic Concert: America 250

The Conference House grounds on Staten Island host a free orchestral concert on Sunday, July 5th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, as the Staten Island Philharmonic takes the stage for a festive Independence Day performance.

The program draws on patriotic favorites, American classics, and celebratory orchestral works that capture the full spirit of the founding weekend. The concert is part of the Conference House’s America250 series, tying the music to a site with deep Revolutionary War significance. Admission is free.
