Juneteenth is a federal holiday and one of the most significant cultural observances in the country, honoring freedom, African American resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equality. In Brooklyn, where Black, Caribbean, African, and broader diasporic communities have shaped the borough’s identity for generations, Juneteenth events in Brooklyn carry a layered character.
